My tranny is kaput!

Tony,

I need some help on gear options for my WRX.  I am not sure what has happened but something is broken in a significant way.  I heard "klang, klang, klang", and then a loss of tranmission drive.  It is at Hodges right now awaiting a teardown and in the mean time I am looking at my gear/tranmission alternatives.  What are your thoughts?

I would seriously consider getting the Type-RA gears from someplace like Rallispec or Gruppe-S.  You may have to wait a little while for the gears to show up, as the RA gears are always in high demand.

I looked at the Gruppe S listing and they are expensive, for me anyway, I think like $2500 for the set.  I don't know what the stock parts will cost so I don't have a good reference of how bad is bad yet.  Are there any other options?

The gears should be $1400 for the set.

I read the Version 6 Sti and thought  it was for the 6speed.  I focused ont he KAAZ price and went into shock.  I don't know what happended from there. I will see what the stock stuff is first and then decide.  Thanks.
